About Markus Weichselbaum

Markus Weichselbaum

Markus was born in Vienna, Austria, lives in Australia since 1994, and still speaks with a strong accent that sounds a little bit like "Arnie".

Markus founded Cherry Internet Services (CIS) in 2000 while completing his PhD thesis in the field of neuroscience. After his PhD, Markus was employed as Research Officer at the Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital. In 2003, CIS was incorporated and Markus took on the fulltime position of director of CIS.

Qualifications

Markus holds an degree in Biology, a MSc in Biophysics (Univ. of Osnabrueck, Germany, 1993) and PhD in Physiology (with distinction, Univ. of Western Australia).

Aug 16th 2006. ACS recognition

Markus holding up a certificate of recognition by the Australian Computer Society Foundation, for supporting the ACS Foundation Scholarship Program. Cherryis is proud to be involved with the CEED program, providing final year Computer Science students of the Edith Cowan University the opportunity to work on actual projects in a real life business environment.
